Kyrion sprinted through the grand halls of the Transdimensional Knight's Headquarters. He was late to the meeting that had been called. His superiors were already annoyed at his slightly...chaotic behaviour. As he hurried along he didn't notice the almost absolute silence, or the deathly chill in the air.
In the meeting chamber, there lay bodies. Transdimensional Knights were dead all over the floor. Except two, they had their weapons drawn and faced their foe with fierce determination. Their foe however, wasn't too concerned with them, and contented himself with the carnage he'd created. He stood in the centre of the room laughing maniacally. "Fiend! You'll pay for this!" shouted one of the knights. He charged at him, but missed as his black-cloaked opponent seemed to flit out of existence and flit back in, his blade piercing the knight's gut. The knight's eyes widened in horror and pain and he collasped to the ground, blood welling up to his mouth. The final knight surveyed the entire room and his opponent with an air of impassiveness. The horror of having all these powerful knights killed before him seemed not to faze him at all. "Neith, do you really believe in what you're doing?" he asked his opponent. "Belief has nothing to do with what I'm doing fool! I simply want to kill all of you T.D.K. bastards, and make sure you pay for destroying my home, my family...everything!! But while I'm at it. I may as well have some fun. AHAHAHAHA!!!" Neith glided forwards, his feet floating just above the floor and struck the final knight directly in the heart. "And so...I succeed!" At the moment, Kyrion burst through the door, he looked around, saw everything and drew his sword. "Kyrion....no!! Run!" shouted the knight, he tried to gesture with his left hand, but it was feeling weak, and was weighed down by the Dimensional Claw that all the Knights wore. He fell to the floor dead as his killer once again flitted out of existence, and returned to it right next to where Kyrion used to be. "What?! How di-" "Die!!" Kyrion had moved as soon as he saw him disappear, and had taken the time to bring his weapons to bear, drawing his katana with his right hand, and his great sword with his left. He swung hard with both, but Neith managed to parry just in time, and undercut his left hand. Neith retreated backwards to regain himself. He'd underestimated this knight. It seemed he was far better than any of them, and also seemed to lack their discipline, which worked more in his favour than against it. Kyrion released his grip on his greatsword, but it did not fall to the floor, instead it began to float, and move around in the air, seemingly of its volition. Kyrion sent the greatsword out towards Neith, it flew at him with a flash. While it hurtled towards him, Kyrion clenched his left hand, readying his claw for use. He cut open the void between dimensions and jumped through, the portal closing behind him. Kyrion took a deep breath, and opened another portal, re-emerging behind Neith, just as he parried the flying greatsword. He took his chance, plunging the katana straight towards his back, but Neith was quicker than he expected, spinning around immediately after and twirling the katana out of Kyrion's grasp, and jabbing him in the chest. Kyrion winced in pain, and fueled totally with anger and want for revenge, thrust the only weapon he had left into Neith's foul heart. His Dimensional Claw. "Trans-lightning!!" He shouted, speaking the spell automatically, almost as if the claw made him do it. Golden lightning surged through the claw into Neith's body, and he both screamed in pain and laughed. "YES! HAHAHHHRGHAHA!!! IT TINGLES!!! AHHAHRGGHA!!" He collasped on the floor dead, golden sparks still jumping around his body. Watching the battle from afar, a dark entity smiled, he'd found the one he was looking for, but he wasn't ready yet...he'd need the tool that had just so unfortunately been killed back. It sighed and reversed the flow of time back to just before Kyrion threw the greatsword, but leaving the memories in Neith's mind intact. This time when the greatsword was thrown at him, Neith smiled and dispatched it quickly with blast of energy, and was already facing the direction from which Kyrion was to come. He was savouring the fact he would kill this one when a Voice from the deepest depths of the Darkness pierced his thoughts, commanding him to injure his foe and to retreat. He smiled again, the boy would almost certainly want revenge...a game of cat and mouse would be far more satisfying than merely killing him. Kyrion, emerged once again, but this time, he was already in searing pain. Neith had slashed him across the chest while simultaneously blasting him with flames. Kyrion sailed backwards and crashed into the wall, he slid down and landed on the body of a fallen knight. He tried to crawl forward, but he was losing consciousness, and his vision was fading. "The name's Neith. Let's settle this some other time." Neith turned and left, his cloak billowing behind him, as he laughed maniacally. It echoed through Kyrion's mind, as the darkness fell and unconsciousness claimed him.

Neith wandered around the village near the T.D.K. HQ, they knew nothing about what had just occured there and probably wouldn't find out for some time. "My lord, what do wish for me to do now? he said to his master telepathically. "Neith....collect Dark energy...as much as you can. Leave a trail, but do not make it too easy to follow. It is time to ensure that I get my Knight of Dark and Light." The Dark One's voice sounded like two voices, speaking slightly out of sync, and it echoed slightly, no matter where you where. Neith looked around, scanning the village for sources of Darkness. He detected a small amount in all the people living there, but it was just the fragment that lurked in all hearts, it was not enough...but it was a start. He licked his lips, and drew his sword...
8 hours later. Kyrion opened his eyes, his vision was still a little blurred, but he could make out that he was still in the hall of the headquarters. His wounds had been healing while he was out of it, and he was in good enough shape to get up. He looked around, using a low-level spell to search for the faintest life sign. He found none. Everyone was gone. "The name's Neith. Let's settle this some other time." "Neith...yes...we'll settle this...we'll settle it now." He looked around the room for his greatsword, it was totally destroyed, so he took the one his master had used. He had implored Kyrion to run with his dying breath, but would the outcome have changed? Kyrion summoned his remaining strength and cast a spell upon the bodies, they all glowed and disappeared, spheres of light left the bodies as they disappeared, but instead of fading as they usually did, they all converged together and formed one large one. Kyrion took half a step back, this wasn't supposed to happen. "Kyrion...you are the last of the Transdimensional Knights. We grant you what power we have left. Avenge us if you must, but know we only wish for us to be remembered, and that our order continues in someway. Use this power in any way you choose, but remember our wish." spoke the voice of his master from the gigantic sphere. "Oh, and you can have my greatsword, thank you for asking." Kyrion got the impression his master was smiling at him. "I won't forget you, master...or any of the others. My friends and comrades died this day. I must avenge you, but I'll never forget your wish." "Go then, and make us proud." The sphere of light moved towards Kyrion, engulfing him with light. There was a blinding flash and then it was gone. All of Kyrion's wounds were healed, and his power increased. He could feel the collective power of all the Knights brimming within him.
Kyrion had left the headquarters, he intended to ask people in the village if they had seen the man wearing black armour, but as he got there he saw that it was impossible for them not to have. The village was on fire, and a crudely constructed gallows stood in the centre, hanging from it were some of mutilated corpses of the villagers. The rest of the villagers had been left where they'd been slain. Anger surged through Kyrion's being. In his rage he tore at the air with his Claw and opened a portal. He heightened powers allowed him to sense a very faint trail of Dark energy. Neith must have travelled to a different dimension. Kyrion intended to follow, but before he did, he cast the same spell upon the villagers as he did upon the knights. Their bodies faded and spheres of light rose into the air and disappeared. He put out the fire in the village, and after a few minutes silence he reopened the portal and followed the trail.

Kyrion arrived, he was in a dimension where technology ruled the day. He looked about, everywhere he could see robots, hovering cars, and other thing. It wasn't quite his element, but he'd been to these kinds of places before. His own homeworld was an amalgam of many different worlds due to the presence of a T.D.K. outpost. They didn't usually interfere with the day to day running of the dimension, but the T.D.K never actually found an uninhabited dimension to use, they had to meddle in some places to have a base. Their job was to ensure that the dimensional order was protected, not keep the balance per se, but generally make sure that energy continually flowed, souls got to where they needed to be, needless wars between dimensions were stopped. The T.D.K needed bases to work from, and so the picked places where their open presence would either help, or not cause problems. The HQ for example was placed in dimension that had fragmented, the people that remained lived simple lives in villages scattered around the fragment that the HQ was on...but of course, not anymore. The dimensions themselves could survive without the T.D.K being caretakers, the system may bottleneck every now and then, but it will continue as it always has. The main problem, as far as Kyrion could see. If one person could destroy the T.D.K. Then that person could destroy many more things, or worse...take over from the T.D.K. but with their own order and way things should be run. The T.D.K. could've ruled all dimensions but chose not to interfere unless it was absolutely necessary. Another force may not be so benign. As Kyrion ran all this information through his mind, he realized that his quest for vengeance may end up being secondary to this, he needed to rebuild the T.D.K from the ground up, but to be honest he never did like the rules and discipline of the original order. He sighed and drove it all from his mind, he was getting ahead of himself. Find Neith first, if he could get vengeance quickly, he'd have all the time in the world to rebuild the T.D.K.
Meanwhile...
Neith sat in an office, and looked about, he was rather enjoying this visit to his homeworld, he'd not been here long and had already killed three former associates of his and drained their dark energy. This office belonged to his third victim. Her body lay on the floor, it was stone cold, having been killed hours ago, Neith had literally sat there the whole time. He glanced toward the window, when he felt Kyrion enter this dimension. He'd grown a lot stronger in a rather short amount of time...but then again, he had too. The energy he'd taken from his former associates was great, and it was more than enough to tempt Kyrion down the same path. It was time to leave, he got up and leapt towards the window, teleporting before he hit it. Almost immediately after he left, three people wearing armour and carrying weapons burst into the room shouting "Freeze! Police!" but all that greeted them was the dark room, and the dead body on the floor.
Kyrion wandered around the city, searching for a trail to follow, there was plenty of dark energy around, but none that seemed to lead to Neith. "Looking for me, kid?" said a voice Kyrion looked up, there he was, floating in mid air. Still wearing his black armour and a maniacal smile, the only new thing about him was the swirling miasma of dark energy surrounding him. "I see you've gained more power." said Kyrion "So have you, kid....but is it enough? We'll soon find out, AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!" He vanished, and reappeared by Kyrion, who somersaulted out of the way drawing his weapons. "Flames of Di'sera, arise!" cried Neith, the miasma around him became more turbulent, purple bolts of lightning streaked out, and three creatures made out of fire appeared in a flash of light. They lumbered towards Kyrion, melting the metal floor beneath them. Kyrion darted forward, slicing his katana and greatsword through the creatures, but they passed through like nothing. The creatures took a minute to realise that he'd gone past them, then turned around and continued their very slow advance. "Not the brightest of minions I'll admit, but it'll take more than your swords to take them out, and they are relentless." shouted Neith, who was now watching from the air. Kyrion looked at his fiery foes, he tossed his katana into the air and directed his free hand at his opponents, a jet of water came from his hand and deluged the creatures. They writhed and screamed in agony as the water extinguished the flames, they faded into nothingness. Kyrion caught his katana, and pointed it at Neith. "You're next."

"Is that so?" Neith faded again, appeared behind Kyrion, and kicked him to the ground before he could react. Kyrion flipped back onto his feet. "Hmph..he's gotten faster. But how did he manage it so quickly? Could it be...?" Kyrion charged towards his opponent, aiming to destroy his sword. He swung out the katana and forced Neith to block, and then swung out the greatsword, charged with his anger it shattered Neith's sword. Neith was pushed backwards due to the force, but used his energy to stop quickly. "So that's your game? Well why didn't you say so. Shadow Bind!!" The fragments of blade flew back together and the fissures and cracks in the blade glowed a demonic purple. Kyrion got the sinking feeling that he'd made a terrible mistake. "You're strong kid, but to take me on, you'll need dark energy of your own." Neith flew forward, gliding across the ground, flitting in and out of existence to make his attack harder to avoid. Kyrion held his weapons ready to defend, but when Neith reappeared to attack, the shadow-infused sword went phased through his weapons, and he felt a large impact of dark energy hurl him through the dimensional void. After a short journey he landed face up on cool grass, and could see it was night in this world. "I seem to be spending a lot of time on the ground." he said out loud before passing out.
Kyrion opened his eyes, he was no longer outside. He sat up he was lying upon a bed. "Oh, you're awake Sir Knight." said a female voice. Kyrion looked towards it's origin, a teenage girl was standing by the door. "We didn't think you'd make it, but you heal very quickly. My mother is a healer and even she hadn't seen the kind of wounds you'd taken before." Kyrion realised his was no longer carrying his weapons (except his claw, which couldn't be removed.) or wearing his armour, just his normal clothes. "I thank you for your help. I'm Kyrion, what is your name Miss?" "You're welcome Sir Kyrion, My name is Selene." Kyrion got up, he was back to full strength again. "Oh, you should rest Sir Kyrion." "Just call me Kyrion, and trust me. I'm fine now." Kyrion stepped outside the door and looked around. He could see the landing, stairs leading down, and other doors leading to what he surmised were other bedrooms. Another female voice called up the stairs, getting louder as she came up. "Selene, leave the Knight alone, he'll wake when he's rea- Ah...uh..h-hello Sir Knight." Selene stepped out of the room. "Ah, Arkana...I told you he'd wake up soon. Sir Kyrion, my sister Arkana. Arkana, Sir Kyrion." "Nice to meet you." said Kyrion. "I'd like to know something, where are my things." Selene answered. "Arkana said we should keep them, because we have no idea who you were." Kyrion looked at Arkana, "Is that so...wise decision, but I'll be needing my weapons and armour back before I leave." "Let's go ask mother." said Arkana going down. "Hey, Arkana, wait for me!" said Selene, hurrying after her. "Great...what I have I got myself into now."

Kyrion descended the stairs, the girls had been told they couldn't give him his weapons back, but he could have his armour, and went to get it. Their mother was making some food. "Hello there Sir Knight." she said flashing him a smile before returning to the cooking. "Why do you call me a Knight?" asked Kyrion. "Well, you must be Knight, with all the armour and weapons you're carrying, but what really gives it away...is that claw, which wouldn't come off no matter what I did. So, am I right that you are a Transdimensional Knight?" Kyrion took a half-step back, "You know of us?" "It was one of your kind who taught me healing arts, but I see now that he never taught me all of it. Were it not for your own healing abilities...I wouldn't have been able to help you." "Do people in this dimension know of the T.D.K in general?" asked Kyrion "No, that's why I'm not giving you your weapons back yet, the villagers here think you're an agent of the sorceror who lives on the mountain." "...you'll need dark energy of your own." Neith's words echoed through Kyrion's mind. "Is this sorceror evil?" The girl's mother hesistated for a moment, "He asks for tribute every month, and unfortunately...he doesn't ask for money." "People?" She nodded, "We don't know what he does with them, we tried resisting at first, but that got people killed, then we let one person go, intending for them to be rescued by the mercenaries we hired. They never returned, though the sorceror never showed up for 4 months. Then he came back, and has been plaguing us ever since. He claims he's almost finished his grand design every time he returns, but we have no idea what that is." Kyrion shut his eyes and looked for dark energy. He felt a massive emanation from the north. "I shall deal with him." Arkana and Selene came in, both struggling to carry Kyrion's armour. Kyrion turned to look at them, "Let me take over from here." He held out his hand, the armour flew to him and became molten, the armour flowed into it's proper places, repairing any damage and then solidified. "Thank you both for returning my armour." Selene blushed and looked at her feet and Arkana smiled. Kyrion walked outside and survyed his surroundings. A small dirt path lead to larger dirt road, and the road lead south to the centre of the village, and north to the mountain. Kyrion glanced at his claw. "You'll have to do." and he set off north at a brisk pace, well...brisk for him, abnormally fast for any other human being. Arkana and Selene watched him go down the road, he was already halfway to the mountain. They both looked at each other and then followed. Cloaked well by shadows and masked by powerful dark energy, Neith watched the two girls carefully. One of them would soon become his pawn against Kyrion. But would it be Arkana or Selene. "Well, you'll just have to find out won't you? Hahahahaha!!!"

Neith teleported into the mountain peaks, he detected a large amount of Dark energy, the sorceror had collected from the people who were sent to him. First he broke and corrupted their minds with ghastly spells, and then he made them as evil as possible, and then he finally killed them, extracting and distilling the Dark energy, but instead of absorbing it, like so many have done before to their downfall, he stockpiled it, eventually he knew he would garner the attention of a higher power of darkness, and he would give himself to them. Neith appeared in the main chamber. The sorceror wasn't looking at him, he poring over a book. "Greetings, sorceror." said Neith, landing gently upon the floor. The sorceror didn't look up from the book. "I knew you'd come eventually. I've waited for this moment for so long." He turned around, and knelt before Neith, "Command me master, I have collected this Dark energy as a tribute to evil." Neith smirked, "Very well, a knight travels to this place to slay you. I want you to kill him." Neith knew that this fool was no match for Kyrion. "Also, two girls from the village approach as well, I want you to cast a spell upon this one that will paralyze her." He conveyed the image of his target to him. The sorceror looked up, "I know this one, her name is -" "Quiet fool, they're listening." he said gesturing to nothing in particular. Neith moved over to the Dark energy, and absorbed most of it. "If you can, infect her with some Dark energy. It will make it easier for me later." Neith inscribed a symbol on the ground, it glowed purple for a moment then faded. "I must go now, but one thing...do not mention me at all. My presence must go unnoticed, until I choose to reveal myself." "Of course, master. I shall await your return, hopefully I shall be able to offer you the corrupted essence of this knight." "Hopefully." "Not a chance in any hell." Neith vanished without a trace. The sorceror got up, and gleefully activated all the magical defenses of his lair, though curiously, his teleportation blocker wouldn't activate...perhaps it had something to do with the symbol...no matter. A knight wouldn't have the means to teleport anyway...
